Playing its first season in 2008 – 2009 at MegaIce, The Hong Kong Ice Hockey League, more commonly known as HKL, is one of the largest ice hockey leagues in South East Asia. Comprised of 3 Divisions (Div 1, Div2 and Div 3), there is a total of 25 teams in this league. The HKL features: certified game officials, game result report and summaries, full statistics, 3 star selections after each game, goal announcement and music for all games.
About ‘HKL’ League Format:
- Playing Dates: Div 1 – Thursday nights, Div 2 – Monday nights, Div 3 – Wednesday nights
- 3-minute warmup prior to start of game
- 1 timeout per team (30 seconds)
- 3 periods of 12 minutes running time
